artwork guidelines
The most essential part of the order process is sorting out your artwork. Below, are a few tips to help you through the process of vectoring and saving your artwork. If you are having trouble with vectoring your artwork, or are unsure how to, we can do this for you for an additional cost of £30-£60 (or more), depending on the complexity of your design. If on the other hand, you would like us to vector your artwork just for you to have and use for other purposes than printing, we are happy to offer a vectoring service on our ‘Artwork Vectoring’ page.
VECTORING ARTWORK - For us to get your prints done as efficiently as possible, we require all artwork to be vectored in Adobe Illustrator. The process of vectoring may sound complicated, but to put it simply, all it entails is designing or tracing your image digitally, using the ‘Pen Tool’ in Adobe Illustrator, to create your artwork. You will know your artwork has been vectored accurately by pressing ‘Command’ and the letter ‘y’ at the same time. This will show you all the outlines of your artwork as you will see above, and will indicate whether your artwork is ready to save or needs more editing.
SAVING ARTWORK - Once you have finished vectoring your artwork, checked it over and you are both happy and ready to save it, you will see a few format options to save it as. Ideally, if you could send your artwork as an Ai format then that would be perfect. If for any reason however, you do not have the original Ai format saved or in your possession, due to someone else designing your artwork, then we accept the following formats as well: EPS, PDF and PNG. We cannot print from JPEGS or any other formats so please bear this in mind when working on your vectoring and saving your artwork.
PRINTING ARTWORK - Finally, once you have saved your artwork in the correct format, and sent it over to us via email, we can begin the production for your garments right away. Some clients have asked if they need to save artwork to the correct size and colours before sending - If you are able to then great. However, you do not have to as we can sort out the specifications and will confirm this with you before printing. Once your artwork is vectored accurately, it can also be printed in any colour for Screen-Print and Ultra-Colour transfers, or as close to your requested colour for Vinyl Transfers.
